  1. I think it's so sad that the two men decided to shoot up the Paris offices of Charlie Hebdo. I can't understand their frustration with the magazine satirizing religions like Islam but I think there was a better way to deal with it. It's also sad to hear that this event has led to even more tragedies in France like the taking of hostages in a Jewish supermarket. One thing I find very inspiring though is how people are responding to these tragedies. Seeing the photos of the solidarity march and finding out it is the largest demonstration in French history really shows how people come together during hard times.

  3. I've heard a lot about the shooting at Charlie Hebdo. I know it was a statement that they don't want their religion being made a fool of and to have that shown to thousands of people. Although, Charlie Hebdo has been very well known for its use of satire for the humor and entertainment of their French readers. Yet, some people don't seem to agree.

  4. The morning of January 7th two masked gunman walked into the headquarters of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo and killed 12 people with Kalashnikov russian rifles. As the men fled the scene of the murders they were filmed also killing a police officer. The video went viral instantly spreading awareness across the globe. The next day a police woman was also shot by the same gunman. Later that day there was a reported siting of the gunman in a northern french village, The men occupied a printing press and took a man hostage . As police swarmed the printing warehouse a man in paris took hostages in a local supermarket killing where 5 people died. Police swarmed both buildings killing all three gunman. Later that night the streets of paris were flooded with people as another chilling post went viral. A picture of Thousands of people occupying the streets and one sign in the middle of them that read" Not Afraid". DP

  5. It is really ridiculous that there's still people in 2015 that take any holy book entirely seriously. Religious radicals are dangerous because follow their books word for word and shut themselves out to anyone that disagrees, or in this case they kill someone for not agreeing with their own religion and black mailing anyone who apposes them with violent force. Like really? In 2015??? It's hard for me to believe to be honest. I really hope that these people can update their beliefs to modern times.

  6. This is disgusting to me, especially because people who had nothing to do with the magazine were killed/injured. What I don't understand is how everyone is talking about free speech and the magazine. If you make a magazine that makes fun of someone's religion, it's offensive. I'm not saying the magazine people deserved to be killed, but the fact that the magazine was made in the first place is a concern.
