When they say its not about the money, its usually about the money. Read this article about a thorn in big business' side.

i feel thaf it is an invasion of privacy. people shouldnt be told how much someone else makes unless they are willing to show others. i do believe that their pays should get lowered to help people that get paid really bad, but it is no one others bussniess what someone else makes.

  2. I've got to agree with this article because, it makes sense that the CEO should get more money, he works hard for his money, which also another reason he is a CEO in the first place, you don't just get a job just cause you look the part, you have to work hard for the job.

  3. CEO'S do get paid way more but its fair because they're at a higher position.

  4. I think that comanies should be releasing their median salaries. I know that some companies (schools, hospitals, etc) do release the salaries of their employees on public websites. Knowing what a certain company's salary increases job competition. I believe that most companies should hire more employees and fire a big CEO. The employees being hired would want to work their way up which would make more competitions in the workplace. It would be good because the companies won't be under staffed.

  5. I do not agree with the new rule proposal for the reason that it doesn't really matter on how much the CEO of the company really makes compared to his/her employees. I believe that as long as the employees are paid at least minimum age why would the government feel that their is a problem.

  6. i think CEO's should be making more money than an average worker because he is the CEO of the company. He's the head of the company. If he was making an average worker salary, he wouldn't be considered as the CEO. His title would not have any value to it.

  7. I honestly agree with the statement that is stated above. It is always about the money no matter what. Corporate are finding ways to make money. It is stated that The rule won’t do anything to lessen income inequality. People will not even believe that the CEO is below average. Every guy that works there is one of the best which are being paid a lot of money. A high CEO worker will actually be paid more and more attractive to investors. It does not matter where you work as long as you are being paid, that is all that matters.

  8. I am glad the proposal that would require companies to disclose the median salary of their workers and show how that compares to how much its CEO makes was passed. I believe the majority of CEO's today are extremely overpaid. Some CEO's in addition to their salary also receive more benefits. This is not fair to the workers that really do the work for the CEO and are not paid fairly. I hope this rule does have an impact on society and helps balance salaries overall.

  9. I found this article a little unfair because the CEO of businesses are taking money away from the business and employees. Its unfair because the CEO's are being selffish, and there clearly only doing it for the money and dont care for taking money away from the employees. I agree if you are on top, you should get paid more but taking too much is being greedy from your emploeers and ripping off the company.

  10. If i had money taken away from me because the CEO needed it i would be very mad. Its not fair to work hard for something and not be rewarded. If you have a higher postion yeah you should get good pay but other emplyees should get paid also. I disssagree with this article it got me mad because i think its unfair if Ceo's take your money from you for themselves which is greedy..

  11. I believe that if you made it to the top through your handwork then in all circumstances you deserve the higher pay. You wen through the struggle or hard work to get what you already have. If you cheat your way to the top then you don't deserve the money but that still doesn't mean the people who do less should get more. You should only get what you give in work.

  12. I think its unfair for a CEO to be able to take more money from other employers just because they have a high standing in their business. They probably already make a lot more money then normal employees so why should they be able to take even more money from people.

  13. It's a good idea that they made, but they have to make it simpler and easier for a business to use. They state more cons than benefits in the article like how it's time consuming. The more time a company spends on something that doesn't help their business the more money they are losing. They also say that the information theyre asking for doesn't help for investor who wants to invest in the company. I say until they fix up the regulation they need to lift this regulation temporarily.

  14. I found the article to be very interesting. I believe that in some situations, it really isn't about the money. For example, it stated that it would be easier to over pay their CEO than to pay more to your entire workforce. It also said how investors like low-wage companies. I also agree that it will be time consuming for companies to figure out the median pay for their workforce and compare that to the pay of their top executives.

  15. It not fair to cut pays for median worker's wage but the CEO still gets higher pay. In order to make the company successful the top payer should have less pay and make everyone have above average. So we need government regulates company to make sure the CEO's not taking all the money.

  16. I do not think that people’s salaries should be told to the public. It is a very personal matter, and should be kept privet. I understand why they would want to compare it to the CEO’s pay because they want to make sure the CEO is not getting paid a ridiculous amount of money.

  17. Why place a rule proposal if the negatives outweigh the positives? I can understand why researchers may be able to use the medium wages of workers in a company to collect data, but what is the positive impact? Whenever something has a positive effect, it is very important to see if it is out weighed by the harm that is done. In this case, as the article states, this rule will only create more issues in the work field, and so it shouldn't be enforced.

  18. Although they say it's useless figuring out the amount of money the workers pay it actually is because it's worth it. Also because of this there is a rising pay for ceos and other workers aren't being payed equally. Other than the fact that it might be time consuming and expensive they should still figure out the inequality in pays because there are workers not being payed enough and others being payed way too much.

  19. i think this isnt fair because they are not giving their employees salary just because they are greedy of the money they didnt even earn completely
Thhey should do something about this because nobody should be treated like the workers did

  20. I agree 100% with this article. I feel CEO's make to much money as it is especially when half the time the minimum wage employees are doing all the work. It is also necessary to show how much more money CEO's make than their employees. This will hopefully broaden Americans eyes. - Sean M

  21. The SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission's) proposed a rule that would require private business' to disclose their workers wages in order to show compare how much a CEO makes to a workers median salary. However these CEO's are against this and want to keep it a secret. One opposing person of this proposal puts it as " It could be time consuming to assemble and analyze info on the salaries of all their employers." I think this is arguement is bad because how hard can it be to reveal a bunch of salaries that might take about a few days or more to pile up. I think this was just a cover up statement for just not wanting to do something that could hurt these companies or make them look bad. If those who have government jobs and their pay is being paid from our tax's and we could see how much people with gov't jobs make, why can't we see how much a CEOs whose part of a big companies anyways make? I think investors would be interested in that.

  22. The last paragraph is the most consummate paragraph on the subject of class warfare. It's unbelievable how big the class gap is. The line between the upper and middle classes is astronomically large. But to stay on the subject of telling an employee's salary to the public, that's absolutely ridiculous. Maybe it's fine for a big business worker to release their salary info, but not for other middle class jobs.
