GOP Governors Group Awash in Campaign Cash

The money keeps coming. I guess there is no economic slowdown in politics.

This year, I have noticed that many more campaign advertisements were on television for "Election 2010" than any previous election for Congress, governor, state positions such as Attorney General, etc. I am amazed to see how much more money the Republican party received over the Democratic party because in a matter of two years, the power in Washington has shifted from Democrat to Republican, as we can see from yesterday's election where the Republicans have an overwhelming majority in the House. In addition, it is sad to see how politics has been shaped by donations and money and how these donators are only donating because they want to advance their own self interest, not because they believe that their donation will benefit America as a whole. Throughout the years, politicians have become too obsessed with their poll numbers and donations are key now in elections to run campaign ads and in order to win the election overall. All in all, donations, especially in large sums, only advance the self interest of the contributor, not America as a whole; also, this donation could be used for other remedies, such as food for the poor, but instead this money is used for the security of one's own investments and interests.
