Facebook Deal

Facebook is the talk of Wall Street. A case study in progress on how a company raises capital and maybe goes public.

  1. The stockholders of Facebook are really smart due to that Facebook has over 500 million active members. They didn't publicize the company so that they could earn a lot of money. When it goes public though i feel like everyone will try to invest and the stock will be one of the best stocks to invest at its time.

  2. I thought this was an interesting article. Facebook is a growing and really popular technology company and i am curious to see what happens when the company does go public. They will make a lot more money and people will start making money when it does become public.

  3. I always find it amazing how quickly facebook and the creators of facebook became so wealthy. The fact that an ordinary college student put together a website revolving around such a simple concept and became a multi-billionaire off of it blows my mind. It makes you want to create something using another simple idea that everyone would find useful and making money off of it. Granted it isn't an easy task by any means, it makes you believe that there is a chance for an ordinary person to become wealthy off such a simple idea.

  4. All Facebook Executives are probably sweating at a deal as golden as this. Although, I myself cannot decide whether this would be a good idea for Facebook to go public. On an investor's point of view, it is irresistible, but for the sake of popularity things may take a turn for the worse. Facebook users are sensitive to the slightest changes, meaning even a tweak of interface may deter some users. This means whoever has the most stocks has control of the company and can do what they please, despite sheer profit, things can go either way.

Facebook going public would make a major splash on the financial world. This company is so goaled for prosperity that everyone wants to buy it's shares. However, I don't think that this would be such a good idea for Facebook itself because I think at this point, it would be beneficial for the company to stay under the 500 shareholder limit set by the SEC and continue to be privately held instead of having an IPO and disclosing all their financial information to the open public.
